Decoloniality and Fashion 2025 Course

The course is organized around seven topics, examining key problems of the contemporary fashion industry and their roots in the modern civilization project.

The classes are every Tuesday evening, 8-9:30 pm (GMT +2), the Netherlands time, in English and consist of 1h30 hours, including a lecture-type presentation, assignments in smaller breakout rooms sessions, and group discussions.

Echoes of the Landfill is an environmental art exhibition that confronts Ghana’s plastic crisis through the transformative power of art. Curated by Beatrice “Bee” Arthur—Team Lead of the Ghana International Fashion Team (GiFt) and Fashion Domain Head of the Ghana Culture Forum—the exhibition features eco-conscious artists who repurpose discarded materials such as plastic, fishing nets, and textile waste into compelling visual and poetic works. Hosted at the Museum of Science and Technology, Accra, the exhibition invites viewers to rethink waste, consumer culture, and sustainability from an African perspective.
