How much water do nettle clothes save compared to cotton? ππ
Today, 1.42 billion people β including 450 million children β live in areas of high or extremely high water vulnerability. (UNICEF, 2021)
Water scarcity already affects every continent. Water use has been growing globally at more than twice the rate of population increase in the last century, and an increasing number of regions are reaching the limit at which water services can be sustainably delivered, especially in arid regions. The use of nettle has an estimated impact of saving 460 million liters of water compared to conventional cotton production in 2030 π±ππ¦! (Source 2)
In Kenya the average household consumes about 45.4 liter water per day. 460 million liter water saved per year by nettles πΏ will provide sufficient water use for 27.759 Kenyan households! π(Source 3)
