DRAWING TO NEEDLE: “L’impression”

A crowd of faces, a mix of expressions—each one telling its own story. Some feel familiar, others like passing strangers, yet together they create something beautiful. This piece is about connection, diversity, and the invisible threads that unite us all.
Love takes many forms—between friends, family, and even in the quiet understanding shared between strangers. At our core, we are all simply seeking warmth, recognition, and a sense of belonging.🤍

At BYBORRE, we strive to improve our product, our platform and our brand. In order to do so, we must understand the values that drive our progression.
Our journey led to the development of our core values, and to bring these values to life, we teamed up with artist

„Mastering for Impact“ is the first of the four core values in the series. The result of this collaboration is a blanket that tells a story, frame by frame, like a textile flip book.

Mart photographed each still to create a moving image–yes, moving, on a blanket. Not exactly an easy task, but where is the fun in easy?

Swipe to see how it all came together. 😉

PICTURE TO NEEDLE 🪡

Reminiscent of Milan Design Week 2023, we reflect on one of BYBORRE’s custom textile featured in the Elephant in the Room installation.

We felt it was fitting to merge our message of the overlooked waste culture within the textile industry with the powerful backdrop of the exhibition. The elephant installation stood proudly within one of Milan’s most iconic landmarks, the Castello Sforzesco castle, a symbol of the city’s artistic and architectural heritage. One of the most striking and mesmerizing features of the castle are its vibrant, grand ceilings, which is why we chose to specifically depict them on our textiles.

This installation not only highlighted the hidden inefficiencies embedded in much of textile production but also served as a testimony to Milan’s rich history and culture by honoring this symbol of the artistic and architectural flowering of the Renaissance. Thus bridging the past with a timely conversation about sustainability.

CREATE COME TO LIFE - Concrete Blossom

Inspired by community-driven design, Concrete Blossom infused their creative vision into a custom textile made from our AO2 knit, crafted with 100% recycled polyester. This design is part of their exploration to connect local tailors with our textile technology.

The textile is more than just a beautiful design; it’s part of research into the future of locally made garments. This project brings craftsmanship to the forefront of culture and commerce, while reconnecting fashion to local neighborhoods. The pattern design is a collage of elements commonly found in the outskirts of European cities, evoking the visual language of migrant communities and the spirit of belonging.

Drawing inspiration from migrant neighborhoods, the textile captures the vibrant colors and elements of community, belonging, and heritage. The seven layers of color allowed Concrete Blossom to explore the full potential of our platform, creating a dynamic piece that reflects the essence of creative craftsmanship.

We’re proud to see how Concrete Blossom has transformed our material into a powerful statement of both community and artistry, thank you

Teun loves to find new ways to approach upholstery, with traditional methods being “super focused and precise” in his eyes. His signature style, aided by a handheld bag sewing machine, is rough and upholstered in a way that is freehand by nature. His pieces which were displayed were both cushioned and fully upholstered, leading him to select our textiles as he felt that the soft fabric would make his collection feel more like home.

A CLOSER LOOK - BYBORRE® Textiles for Dutch Design Week.

In collaboration with us for Dutch Design Week, put together a beautiful green textile on our digital design platform for the chair.

Max sought to create a chair featuring natural tones, with a mossy feel to it. His approach to creation is clear on both our textile and hir chair, mixing bold elements with subtle tones. At a distance, the chair seems soft, comforting; but move closer and you will see the sharp contrasting stitching and overlapping colors, as well as strong metal features embedded in the chair.

Created in only 3 days, with many drafts and colors to choose from, we were nothing short of impressed at how quickly Max was able to work with our tool to put together such a striking textile. We couldn’t be happier with how it all came out!

A CLOSER LOOK - BYBORRE® Textiles for Dutch Design Week.

‘s approach to art and creation was on full display last week, with a set of textiles that are nothing short of bold - with strong contrasting colors, riddled with an assortment of drawings, Willem took full advantage of our digital design tool to breathe life into his textiles.

Willem applied a pink textile to a room-divider, as well as a brown textile to a cabinet. Historically, these pieces were decorative as well as functional, with wood carving being common place for these items. This something Willem sought to highlight, seeking a new approach to the medium.

Rather than carve the wood, he felt that a knitted material would provide a nice contrast to previous creations, and we couldn’t be happier seeing how it came out!

like to experiment with colors and materials, so it was only right that they test the limits of our design tool for Dutch Design Week.

Using our blue and red yarn, and changing only the back yarn and the micropatterns, RENS was able to showcase just how much difference knitting patterns can make. It was a pleasure to see just how far our tool could go, and just how much influence a designer can have on their textile with our tool.

It is a simple, yet incredibly potent showcase of how our technology can complement creation.

A CLOSER LOOK - BYBORRE® Textiles for Dutch Design Week.

Using our digital design tool, .duif opted to focus on a drawing he made, titled ‘We All Need Ducks’. A piece that symbolizes how friends come and go, much like the ducks moving in and out of the canvas. Using his drawing, he created a textile with contrasting tones of grey and brown to be used on a bench which onlookers could use to look at his work.

To see both pieces together really emphasized just how far our tool can go, bringing sketches and drawings to life with just a few clicks from pixel to needle! It is a piece which is fun, lighthearted, and above all else pleasant to see featured at a designer showcase.

A LOOK BACK - BYBORRE® for Dutch Design Week.

It’s been a week since Dutch Design Week took place, and we wanted to take a moment to look back at some of the highlights. From panel talks to connectivity dinners, this year’s event was an absolutely wonderful opportunity not only for designers to display their creativity using our digital design tool, but to offer a chance for open dialogue in the creative space.

Thank you , , & for taking the time to discuss your opinions and sharing some absolutely wonderful stories. And thank you to for guiding our talks. It was nothing short of refreshing to hear such varying perspectives on creation, and a pleasure to have you here with us discussing transparency in design, the growth of branding and belief in one’s creative process.

Our connectivity dinner was certainly a highlight as well! Having so many creatives in one room was a sight to see, and we wanted to offer a special thank you to .eindhoven for hosting us.

Dutch Design Week represents many things to many people - to us, it represents collaboration. This year was no different, and a standout moment as we continue to provide quality textiles to creators, and share our story alongside some wonderful creators.

Here’s to this year and many more!

BYBORRE® TEXTILES FOR DUTCH DESIGN WEEK - .duif

Dirk Duif’s approach to work can be described quite plainly: ‘I make objects’. This mantra has guided him in his creations, with an angular yet balance feel to his work. He is a person who designs by feeling, approaching each work with a mental image of an object he wants to bring to life.

For his showcase at Dutch Design Week, Dirk sought to create a bench that onlookers would rest on to observe his work. Using BYBORRE® custom textiles, he created an image with clusters of ducks, each labeled with a number. The bench bears the title ‘we all need ducks’ - in reference to a larger idea that these ducks, much like friends, can come in groups and rankings. It’s a playful, lighthearted piece that we cannot wait to see!.

These pieces can be found at Piet Hein Eek in Eindhoven (free entry) until October 27th.

BYBORRE® TEXTILES FOR DUTCH DESIGN WEEK - .zwets

Teun Zwets is constantly seeking different ways to approach upholstery. He feels that often the traditional methods are extremely focused and precise, and once he came across a handheld bag-sewing-machine, he began experimenting with it, as it allowed him to upholster directly onto an object with ease.

What stands out with these pieces is that he has covered his designs with foam and applied fabric all around it, finishing with his handheld machine. With everything being cushioned and upholstered, he felt that using BYBORRE® textiles would be best for both the comfort and the aesthetic of his pieces.

His couch and bed can be found at Piet Hein Eek in Eindhoven (free entry) until October 27th.
