Apparently, “Take Up Space” applies to RosyG too lolll

I thought I might perch on the edge for a quiet moment, but she had already claimed the best cushion… and had absolutely no intention of moving. So naturally, I joined her. A comfortable dress, a good laugh and RosyG making herself completely at home… just another day at TCD.

This is how a new collection begins... with a table covered in fabric swatches, scribbled notes, half-formed ideas and a fair bit of creative chaos.
I love this stage... the touching, comparing, imagining and slowly bringing all the little threads together. Some ideas are instant.
Others need to sit on the table and quietly introduce themselves.

Bare feet, wild hair and enough colour to brighten the whole coastline. This is my kind of touring… big skies, windswept dunes and clothes made for actually living in.

A little local fact for you, Gorjis: nearby Onetahua/Farewell Spit is New Zealand’s longest sand spit, stretching 25 kilometres into the sea. No wonder this corner of the country feels like the edge of the world 🌈💙

This week I’ve pinned myself in Motueka… You know I’m naturally travelling with RosyG who is also dressed up.

Motueka sits at the top of the South Island and is known as the gateway to Abel Tasman National Park. It’s also orchard country, famous for its apples, kiwifruit, hops and beautiful local produce… so a stop at Toad Hall cafe felt rather essential too. Have you been to this local cafe?

And that’s the thing about true wardrobe Essentials… they’re the styles I reach for at home, on the road and everywhere the map takes me.

Life on the road… you make do with a fence for a washing line, plan to go bike riding, then decide a walk with Rosy sounds much nicer.

No rush, no real agenda. Just washing drying in the sunshine and the two of us exploring somewhere new. Rather fitting, really, as Blenheim is one of New Zealand’s sunniest towns.

Sometimes the best parts of being on tour are the plans you don’t stick to.

Looks like my stripes work alot for me and my black bases while I travel the north of the South Island.
I have finally acclimatised to the coolness of beautiful natural South. Snow on mountains.
I have not been successful in my foraging as nothing around... 😕 so my knitting needles are keeping me entertained as I finish a pair of socks...my first ever too.
I may show you yet as I have had to improvise which means I am creating my own pattern lol.
I have now been to places that I have only heard of.

Over the weekend, this gorgeous woman came into our showroom knowing exactly how she wanted to feel…comfortable, confident and completely herself. She’s reached a point where natural fibres and well-made clothing matter. Fewer garments, chosen with care. Quality over quantity.
We loved helping her try different shapes, build outfits and find the styles that gave her that little spark. And those new fabulous shoes stayed firmly part of every look, just as they should 🌸

This is what getting dressed should feel like: knowing yourself, choosing well and having a bit of fun along the way. 🖤
