Are you coming to PFFS tonight? 🌺

If so, the show starts at 8:30pm, with doors opening at 8:00pm. Before that, we’ll have a special Cook Islands cultural performance outdoors at 7:00pm — so if you’re keen for some island dancing, come early! Just make sure you dress warm for the outdoor experience.

Please plan your time well and remember, if you’re heading into the city, allow extra time for parking.

And a gentle reminder… we’re Pacific, so don’t come and be boring. (jokes family!) Bring the vibes, bring the energy, and let’s celebrate 10 years of Pacific Fusion Fashion together!

Pacific Fusion Fashion Show launched last night with a beautiful kava ceremony at LAKA Onehunga — a deeply grounding and special way to begin what will be an intense and full-on week.

The ceremony was led and operated entirely by a women’s crew. Under the leadership of Susana Leiataua, Cecilia Vakameilalo-Kioa, Lokelani Cochrane and Ika Pipitolu. It was also a first-time experience for many who attended, making it an especially powerful and emotional moment for the room.

Niuean artist Susannah Sionetuato, whose beautiful paintings and hiapo are currently on display at LAKA, also joined us, adding another special connection to the evening.

PFFS Founder Nora Swann was addressed by her Mana Moana name, Measina o Mana Moana — meaning a precious treasure or heirloom of Mana Moana. This name was given to her by Mana Moana Leader, Pakilau o Aotearoa Manase Lua.

These moments were shared with PFFS designers, models, partners, PFFS Management and the wider support team.

It is an incredibly full-on and intense week for everyone, particularly with New Zealand Fashion Week underway. For the Pacific Fusion Fashion Show community, wellbeing is just as important as the work itself, so PFFS used this opportunity to ground ourselves, reconnect with our ancestors, rest the nervous system, and prepare ourselves spiritually and collectively for our show this Friday.

What made these moments even more significant is that fashion and traditional culture are not usually intertwined. However, when the spirit and mana of who we are is embedded in our blood, we can’t help but infuse the two and stand proudly in it.

Celebrating 10 Years of PFFS: A Decade of Fashion, Culture, and Legacy

Since our inception in 2016, PFFS has been a journey fuelled by passion, resilience, and community.

It all began in the heart of the community, and by pure chance, Pita Taufatofua—the internet-breaking Tongan athlete from the Rio Olympics—chose to model for us as an international model, drawing every major media outlet to our show.

In 2017, we transformed Otara Shopping Centre into a high-end fashion runway set against an urban backdrop. After navigating all the red tape to make it happen, we realized we could host a fashion show anywhere—even on the moon!

In 2018, Ambury Farm became our runway, where we played with nature and staged a photoshoot with the farm animals.

By 2019, despite setbacks with venue availability, we brought the Fashion Factory to Due Drop Events Centre after five factories in Manurewa declined our venue request due to health and safety concerns.

When 2020 hit and COVID-19 challenged us, we refused to be stopped. We adapted by broadcasting the event from Wellington, with viewers around the world and 100 guests in a cinema theatre—making it one of the most notable Pacific fashion events to pivot successfully during the pandemic.

2021 saw us taking the show on the road, closing down St George Street in Papatoetoe, even amid backlash from a small minority trying to shut us down just days before the event—yet we prevailed.

In 2023, we took the runway to Ardmore Airport, hosting our largest production yet in a hangar, in partnership with NZ Warbirds Association, with 170 production crew.

In 2024, we partnered with NZFW for our final standalone show, transforming the Downtown Ferry Terminal into a runway that the public could watch as they travelled through.

And in 2025, we achieved a milestone by becoming part of the official NZFW calendar—a moment we had long aspired to.

This year, we are proud to celebrate a decade of PFFS with the New Zealand fashion community. It’s been a remarkable journey that embodies our theme: LEGACY—our heritage of strength and a future of promise.

Here's to ten years of storytelling through fashion, culture, and community.
