Both of our kids do this. I ask a million menu questions and sometimes opt for the “sauce on the side”. Share your eating out hacks below👇🏻

Decaf girl 👋🏻 anyone else? I sustained a TBI and couldn’t (I tried) drink caffeine. Had to say goodbye to red bull and vodkas 🫣 wonder if they do a decaf one… might defeat the purpose of what Red Bull is 😂

And then I sometimes walk back just to triple check that triple checking - ugh 🤦‍♀️😅 trust issues.

We eat almost every night around the kitchen bench. It works for us so we roll with it 🌊. Where do you eat?

I taught myself to sew so that I could make clothes Zo would be able to wear. Thank god it worked 😅🥳

Doing it scared / naive / inexperienced but doing it! Too many families like ours struggle to get out the door. Clothing is just one of the barriers. But it’s one we can help with 🙌🏻

I was on a mission to find clothing that worked for Zoë (before I made them myself). If I could find something, it was farking ugly or childish. She deserves to feel good and look good 😍

Big mistake thinking our first production run was going to go smoothly 😅 or at least go ahead!

We’ve been working with a manufacturing partner we met in Sydney. It’s taken a long time to get through the R&D, but we finally got to a place where we were genuinely happy.

Together, we developed our fabric, had it manufactured, and were on the final round of sample tweaks and pattern refinements. We’d confirmed what our first production run was going to look like…

Then, kid you not, just a couple of hours later, I got an email.

The factory they use for the activewear side of their business, where our clothing was being made, was closing down.

Talk about a f**kball.

We’ve invested a huge amount of time working with this team, and I’d literally just caught up with them in Auckland.

So after throwing ourselves a pitty party… we’re pivoting. (Cue Friends… “Pivot! Pivot! Pivot!” 😂)

I’m now speaking with a few different manufacturers to find the right fit for aszo and, most importantly, for the sensory-friendly clothing we’re creating.

It’s not the update I was hoping to share, but it’s part of building a business. Things don’t always go to plan. Sometimes you just have to adapt, keep moving, and trust that you’ll end up somewhere even better.

Onwards we go 🩷

Sensory struggles aren’t just about clothing. Sometimes your brain wants two completely opposite things at the same time.
Isn’t that delightful… 🤦‍♀️

The noise of the air conditioning is overwhelming… but I’m freezing, so I need the heat. ARGH!

No lies, I woke up to Zo screaming, “YOU BITCH!” in my face.

The reason?
I hadn’t washed her snow gear in a timely fashion.

When questioned by her dad, her answer…
“SENSORY.”

Huh?

Then she quietly whispered…
“aszo.”

Calling your mother a bitch?
Not okay.

Experiencing sensory overwhelm?
Also not okay.

For everything else…
