HOLLIE LINTOTT • NATIONAL COSTUME for MISS UNIVERSE NEW ZEALAND 2026
Some photos of my most recent commission and collaboration with Hollie for the Miss Universe New Zealand pageant. When Hollie reached out to me a couple months ago to create this piece, we wanted to create a design that reflected a place of significance in Aotearoa for Hollie. We landed on Akaroa, a place of meaning and aroha in Hollie's life. Taking inspiration from the dazzling waters, rolling hills, and local landmarks such as The Giants House, this design began to form and take shape.
This National Costume consists of mosaic Paua shells broken, chiseled, and sanded into fragments upon a structured corset, a wire sculptural piece inserted into hidden interior boning channels, and a flowing satin high-low skirt. This look is made from 100% natural fibres and fabrics, to further represent Kaitiakitanga and sustainability within a New Zealand lense.
This outfit represents what Aotearoa means for Hollie, and how she carries her country with her in everything she does. Congratulations on placing second runner up and being crowded our Miss Charm NZ 2026 👏👏 thank you again for this amazing opportunity to collaborate with you, Jimmy and I had a blast creating this Taonga for you 💚
