ys welcome, so come along and see what the excitement is about! When you join Christchurch Babywearing, you get the use of the sling library, monthly meetings, support and sling help, and get to know other babywearing parents. Christchurch Babywearing 'sling library'
The main reason for our sling library is for people to trial carriers they are curious about or are considering buying. It is not a long-term hire service, and carriers are to be loaned once only. Lending conditions are as follows:
• Loan fee is $10 per month.
• You may take out one carrier per month.
• A late fee of $5 per week or part thereof applies for carriers not returned on the due date.
• You can opt to post a carrier back at your cost, via Track & Trace.
• You are liable to pay replacement cost up to a limit of $100 should a carrier be damaged in your care and/ or need replacing.
• You agree to take excellent care of any carriers loaned, and not to wash them without first checking with Babywearing Christchurch. If Babywearing Christchurch doesn't meet your immediate needs then there is a trained, independent Sling Consultant in Christchurch: www.slinglady.co.nz
Many would say he is way too old, too heavy to be carried around in a pouch sling. He would sleep better if left alone in a crib, others would remark. Forget the snide comments and ignore the weird looks from strangers. By babycarrying we actively respond to the basic needs of a baby---warmth, security, connection, love, closeness and trust. Keep your babies close to your hearts for a baby is happiest being held.
