This is going to be an important wānanga/ wānaka for us as it is our 25th Anniversary camp. This wānaka will include mahi toi/kōhatu, rāranga - weaving, mahika kai - food gathering - eeling/floundering, kēmu tāwhito - pre-european traditional māori sports & games and of course Mau Taiaha. We also have a very auspicious guest coming from Ahitereiria (Aussie) to learn more about our style and philosophy and to take some professional photographs for her photographic series "the warriors' series". Kiaora fb whanau this is the last check in for 2012. Last Tuesday we held our Nga Uri o Tu - Tu Toka Tu Ariki breakup at Moana pools. We had three whanau come along with their boys to celebrate their achievements thus far & to make goals for next year. Without exception all of the lads had a ball. Had we had all of the boys in attendance that would have made 15. That's a start lol My sincerest wish is that you all have a safe & good break & that the great spirit keeps you all in good grace untill we come back next year & carry on with this journey called life. Arohanui, Love Sunshine & Happiness... Mauriora!!!!!! Jade

Kiaora fb whanau, last week the juniors filled our final training day with fun physical activities playing games & letting the Brockville community know that we were here lol. Had one old student from Aorangi primary up in chch make his way back to mau rakau class which was great. Also unfortunately one of our boys' mother passed away last week as well. And tonight we're heading off to Moana pools for the end of year BBQ & hydroslide. If you're up in chch anytime soon, Cage Warriors 10 featuring Korey "The Ginger-bread Man" Gibson is defending his NZ title so go along & support the event. Tu Toka Tu Ariki are also holding another wananga so keep sharp & head along to that too. As always whanau love sunshine & happiness... Mauriora!!!! Jade

Kiaora fb whanau, i havn't been able to access the internet for a few weeks so please bare with me lol Tuesday Brockville classes are due to wind up on the 10th Dec with a whanau bbq to be held at Moana pool with the boys getting a shout on the hydro-slides :D kapai :D Four young warriors, Josiah/Taraia/Mark/Chase accompanied me to the Tu Toka Tu Ariki wananga Taiaha in labour weekend just gone. Taraia achieved his first rank of Uruora (jnr assisstant tutor) big congrats to him for that. Josiah had a taste with the generally toughest gp to work with... the nohinohi or jnrs. Chase did an awesome job in the rangatahi gp (youth) and was especially noticed by the kauta kaimahi (cooks) for consistently askink if things needed doing around the camp & Mark r only 13yrs old found his way into the mens (seniors) gp, to which he completed as if he was meant to have been in that gp from the begining lol So they represented Dunedin extremely well. Unfortunately the up-coming camp is not scheduled for us to attend as a combined gp but if you're interested then definitely head along to Taumutu Marae this show weekend coming!!! Thursdays are still a little low on numbers so 5pm - 7pm L.P.H.S come one come all you shouldn't be able to miss us!!! As always whanau, love sunshine & happiness!! Arohanui, Mauri ora!!!! Jade
