ELM HUB STOCK PROJECT
Dunstan Homestead, Ōtaki, has generously donated Elm blanks for a meticulous seasoning process, which will entail the following procedures:
- removal of sapwood
- drilling a 13/16th hole through the centre
- shaping into a cylindrical form
- application of wax or paint to the ends
- stamping with the date of processing
- storage for the requisite seasoning period
- seasoning duration: 1 year for each inch of thickness, plus an additional year.

We are truly humbled and so happy 🥰
