Proudly designed in New Zealand. The Swazi adventure began back in October 1994. A trapper by trade, Davey Hughes and his then wife Maggie started the company after a crash in the skin market. "If I was an expert at anything, it was getting wet and cold! I had ideas, dreams and ambitions. Mags had the drive to help turn them into reality. We set out to build a company to design and make clothing that would keep people dry and warm. Durable. Practical and affordable clothing." Now, Swazi has become much more than a clothing company. 26 years on it is a company with huge respect around the globe, not only for apparel, but also for it's stand on environmental issues, social justice and promotion of adventure. The Swazi promise is to continue to bring you innovative and practical Agricultural, Hunting and Outdoor Leisure clothing, but hand in hand with this assurance Swazi also undertakes to make the voice of the outdoors heard. Swazi Stories | Five days, three Sounds, plenty of crays and one waterfall.

Northland couple Zoe and Nick Mulligan took Swazi along on a SEA Fiordland charter through Dusky, Breaksea and Dagg Sounds.

Garrons (Highland ponies) have been bringing harvested stags off the mountains for generations. A tradition rooted in the hillcraft of the Scottish Highlands, and one the locals are determined to keep alive.

Norway’s outdoor culture runs deep, and we don’t say that lightly. Friluftsliv isn’t a trend, it’s generations deep, built into everyday life through the right to roam and a genuine respect for the land.

Some of Swazi’s staunchest supporters live, hunt and fish in Norway, and Swazi Ambassadors Maria and Stephan are two of them. Find them (and their constant companion, Ipa the dog) chasing spring trout, training for hunting season, or just packing the car and seeing where a Norwegian back road takes them.
