Every single day living and breathing Aotearoa air, I find myself a little bit more. Embracing a life surrounded by nature, I find myself seeking the light wherever I go. It is in these little moments of light seeking vs shadow play, I find myself lost in the moments with gratitude, to be alive, to be living this life just as I am.
Life can be so simple, yet so beautiful, but it does take conscious effort to look beyond the struggles of daily living to be able to see these glimmers of hope that surrounds us. Every person has the ability to find hope in little things that brings us joy. We just need to be open minded enough to see them, feel them, to take that moment to pause long enough to enjoy them.
As aging becomes a real thing, I find myself appreciating these moments even more. Even the laughs of my children, the silly antics they do, or how they respond to one another, I find precious moments worth pausing to simply make a mental note to remember those moments. After all, life is truly made up of these moments, and if you don’t take notice of them, life simply passes by you, and before you know it, you forgot to say goodbye or tell someone you love them, before time takes them away from you.
Time itself is speeding up in this era, but it is our responsibility to slow it down for ourselves, to remember who we are, and what it is that makes it worth living for.
