Pēpi- by the midwife Made by a midwife! I love newborn humans, I love sewing, I love natural fibres and upcycling wherever I can.

I've combined all these to create this little Facebook shop. I upcycle fabrics where I can and use natural fibres when I can't upcycle.

I’ve been quiet on here as life has been kinda busy.
I’ve spent some lovely time in front of the sewing machine that has been a great stress relief.

Finally got some time to try out this new pattern, it’s so sweet. These are samples in 0-3mth size, so don’t look too close at the pattern matching on the wee dress! A relatively easy pattern once I got the instructions sorted. I think I might make a few of these to donate to my fave baby charities.

This make was for a fairly high needs client…. She has a lot to say, but really the only things I could understand were “mama” and “yayyy”. I guess she’s excited about being a mama?! A freestyle make with a repurposed duvet cover from her mother’s childhood and fabric that had been rescued from someone else’s stash!

I’ve really been enjoyed making these outfits as a gift for a special friend’s granddaughters. It’s always a challenge trying new patterns with old fabrics. Rescuing fabrics is a real passion… it’s not a fabric stash in my cupboard, they’re “rescues”. Watch this space for more of my rescued fabrics being made into summer outfits😍

It’s the last day of July, so it’s the last day of selling pre made stock. A huge thank you to those who’ve purchased from me. I’ll still be sewing under the name Pēpi by the Midwife, but it will all be requested items. This is your last day to buy items already made up before I sort into charity groups. Ngā mihi nui.

Final few days before I “shut up shop”. What does this mean?
Anything that hasn’t sold will be donated to charities that support wahine and their whanau, with maybe a few pieces stashed away as gifts.
A thousand thank yous to those who’ve supported this journey. I’ll still be around making bespoke orders on an individual basis. I’ll still be posting articles of interest.
