✉️There will be no posts to my feed or stories during this time.
💌I will be answering dms, but I won’t be checking dms as frequently as I usually do. (This is how I stay in touch with many of my friends as txts overseas can get expensive)
📧If knitting related please email me at [email protected]
🙏🏼Prayer requests please dm or email me these.

⚠️Please note: I am not an Eastern Orthodox Christian as I can’t attend church due to my health to become at Catecumen (I need to be able to attend regularly which I understand) I do read the Orthodox Bible Synaxarion etc, learning in the meantime and follow the church calendar.

🙏🏼Prayers for my health are appreciated. I live with over 10 chronic illnesses which are complex and debilitating.

🕯️Have a great start to your August and a Blessed Fast.

The owls have been sending mail between the Courts each sealed with the royal seal of each court. The Autumn Court with leaves and Spring Court with a flower. Messages of happenings in each court, cottage and their lives.

❤️‍🩹While each Court continues to pray there will be peace amongst the courts, any possible threats are discussed and actions taken. As in years past the Summer and Winter Courts caused terror during an attack which lead to the collapse of the Autumn Court and the remaining Ardians either refuse to leave and hid or fled to the Spring Court for their safety.

🧶Needles have been clicking back and forwards as the Autumn Queen has been busy Knitting up patchwork rectangles in shades of brown and green. In the middle of each in a red square for love. The brown rectangles for the hard times and the green for the good times.

🌷Come spring the Spring and Autumn Courts will come together and everyone who has knitted and stitched a patchwork square will swap squares with each other. So everyone has a blanket with a bit of everyone’s work in it.

It’s time for our scriptures of the day and a saint quote.

🕯️Saint Quote🕯️

I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

Applying heat to an area of the body increases blood flow, decreases joint stiffness, reduces pain and inflammation, and relieve muscle spasms, relieve aches and pains, relieve cramping and back pain. You can also use a wheatie bag as an ice pack. I’ve found heat helps best for me but for you it might be that ice helps, use what works for you. I use my wheatie bags on my lower back, all over my stomach and under my ribs, down my legs and to heat up the bed/studio chair to get it warm and to help my pain. The coldness has been making my pain worse lately.

You can use wheatie bags for:
🌻Neck and shoulder tension
🌻Back pain
🌻Muscle aches and stiff joints
🌻Arthritis pain
🌻Headaches and Migraines
🌻Tired and puffy eyes
🌻Dry eyes
🌻Cramping
🌻Swelling
🌻Sport injuries
🌻Aching feet
🌻Ear ache
🌻Jaw/tooth pain
🌻Pelvic pains
🌻Post surgery shoulder gas pain or post surgery ice packs
🌻Endometriosis
🌻Menstrual cramps

When using a wheatie bag
🌻Put 1/2 cup of water in the microwave too so you don’t burn the wheatie bag.
🌻Keep an eye of the wheatie bags to make sure they don’t fall over in a microwave and catch on fire - Ive burnt wheatie bags like this.
🌻Dont put the wheatie bag directly on your skin and make sure there is a layer of clothes between it.
🌻Never apply heat to an infection or fresh injury.

When out and about I use the heat patches especially for long trip. I also have 1 in my bag just in case I end up needing 1.

🌈What is your fave tool to use aside from pain medication.

Products shown:
🌻Hot pod from Chemist Warehouse NZ
🌻Wheatie bags from Kmart
🌻PA Heat Patches from Chemist Warehouse NZ - ready to use just open to activate and stick on.

13/07/2026

Knitting was something my Nana taught me when I was around 8years old, I enjoyed it and still remember us knitting together. I tried to pick it up again in my teens but I couldn’t get the hang of it again. When I was in my 20s she taught me again how to knit again, I haven’t stopped knitting since then.

Knitting became more than just needles and yarn and doing a hobby I enjoyed. It became a creative outlet, a way to keep my hands busy and therapeutic.
When life was heavy and anxiety was bad I’d knit away creating. I learnt to knit continental for fun, it was tricky and challenging but I enjoyed it. While I learnt to knit this way, I went back to how I’d always knitted.

Then chronic illness life hit hard and things changed so rapidly. In just 3 months I was diagnosed with 4 chronic illnesses It was a year after I started CWCK and I lost my caregiving job I loved a few months later.

The days seemed so long and my symptoms were overwhelming so I picked up my knitting needles while laying down and created. Some days knitting was the only thing I could do and I felt like I was accomplishing something during the hardest seasons of my life and all the uncertainty of it all.

Then there were days when I couldn’t concentrate enough to knit, when I’d just hold my knitting project in my hands just to feel the stitches or squish the ball of yarn to feel it in my hands. The hospital stays where I’d knit away, that became a talking point among drs, nurses etc. I’d knit on the way to and from appointments and during some of my appointments as well to help with my C-PTSD.

Knitting was a place where I found beauty in the survival and daily battles, and along the way knitting became more therapeutic than it had originally been and a way of coping.

Then the sharp, burning and aching shoulder pain hit hard and knitting just aggravated it. I gave it time by resting, stretching etc it didn’t work and the pain stayed oh and knitting still aggravated it. I was tired of not knitting so started knitting continental, it was slow and challenging as I learnt to knit wrapping the yarn around the needle with my left hand instead of right hand. Once I got the hang of it I was away again and it became my way of knitting for the last 7years.

Now I have limited use of my hand and arm due to FND (functional neurological disorder), along the way I tried rest, stretching, regular breaks but things went downhill fast and worsened. My grip is very weak and it’s hard to hold anything in my right hand. Knitting looks different again. Knitting in small bursts and slower than before for now. A needle held in a fist on a good day, on an okay day the neddle tucked under my armpit with a grip to help hold the needle. Neither of which I can do for long but I’m making progress one stitch at a time, one row at a time I’ll get there again and in the meantime knitting is slow and intentional in small bursts of time but most importantly I’m knitting.

I see your light, your struggle and fight not just with things your going through but the battle to keep doing your hobbies and the things you enjoy. You are more than enough and you are appreciated.

An Honary Princess in the Autumn Court: Emmy’s story snippet 🍂👸🦉

I played tea party with my teddies and a few of my friends the next day. It was hard not being able to tell my friends about the meeting or what games there would be but I don’t want to ruin the surprise. I wonder if we could have a tea party at the Harvest Party? Maybe I could ask even though everything had already been planned out perhaps we could while the story was read. I wrote a note to Fern and Grandpa sent his owl off with the note. It sure was getting colder lately, Mumma had added extra blankets to my bed and had knitted us all cozy socks that she lined with fleece to keep us warm. Mine and my brothers have little pine trees on them. Edith had made each of us children a blanket with tassels on it to keep us warm in the evenings as we sat on Grandpas porch with him and Edith most nights while Grandpa told stories of times gone by while we sipped on spiced hot cocoa. Other times we would chat about our adventures we had that day. Lately, Ethan the man that owns the wooden toy shop has been stopping by to chat with Mumma about a secret project he is working on for her. Him and Mumma often sit out on our porch with spiced hot cocoa too, sometimes we all sit together out there looking up at the stars.

Behind the cottage gate we welcomed two new fur babies and my newest studio meows Jack and Pania. They are brother and sister and have such a lovely bond with each other that the lady we got them off didn’t want to seperate them and was glad we wanted both of them. They can often be found napping together and playing or laying in front of the fire in the evenings.

Meet Pania - Studio Meow Guard
🐀She loves being outside and hunting.
🤗she’s not too fond of being held or patted but is getting better.
😻She loves finding places to play hide and seek and knock books over in the Fortres Brae library.

Meet Jack - Studio Meow Chief
😻He mainly loves being inside, being held and having cuddles.
🐀He also loves to hunt as well.
🍛Loves food and known for being a menace in the cottage cookhouse/bakehouse.

😻😻Both of them love to play with my knitting needles and yarn while I’m knitting and are very cheeky.
