Andressa Cordeiro | A passion project to finish my host. Last year, I submitted my work for the SHOTDECK recreation contest. I found that was a great excuse to challenge myself to recreate this scene from "In Cold Blood" shot by Conrad Hall. I am mesmerized by the rain projection onto the actor's face during his monologue. This is my second attempt because it was really hard to get this projection. After my first attempt, I've found an old ASC article with Mr Hall saying that the projection is mainly coming from the condensation on the glass that was created by the fan outside the window, and then I used a steamer to recreate.
It turns out that I was awarded a runner up in the B&W category. And Amy Vincent herself recorded this video validating my work. I couldn't believe it.
This is an ode to friends. This entire project was made with the help of amazing people who I love and am grateful to have in my life. They are:
- JP Mourão and Mariana Goulart + Bentinho for being my family and taking this challenge with me! JP posed for me and Mari helped me with everything, including steaming my window and taking BTS pics.
- rayana rasamee and @ tomsphone for your generosity in letting me take your lights and stands. Thank you so much guys!
- Brandon Caballero for being such a lovely actor and coming down to shoot this and then not having his take picked up. THANK YOU for believing in this project!
- Anne Etheridge Alison Kelly rayana rasamee Ioana Vasile@craig_boydston and Thaïs Castralli for walking me through this and pushing me to do my best! Invaluable advice from you guys.
It's been a pleasure to host The ICF⁺C again. Thank you for the opportunity
