It’s not yet halloween, but cemeteries can be fun all year around 💀✨
The cemeteries in the Philippines can be places of joy, reconnection and peace. During All Saints’ Day for example, people make a picnic with their passed loved ones.
For this design, we wanted to capture the eeriness and beauty of the hanging vines surrounding the grotto.

Some designs just flow, some wait, some are almost never finished. Because something is missing, a creative thought not yet caught.

In these moments we try not to force it! We have plenty of other projects anyways, projects sometimes halted or brand new ones.

So we just continue on those and someday - the prior design gets continued on, with new creative ideas caught and the design just flowing.

We call it intuitive designing!

It takes time, patience and trust. But this way, each peace is truly made to capture a feeling, a moment or an energy into its fabric.

A feeling which you can carry on you, something, in its entirety, now truly only unique to you.

Calling all designers and aestheticians for help ✨🫶 let us know what you think and if you have any other ideas!

We’ve been on this design for way too long now (several weeks), but we want to make it just perfect. We’ve added the red fabric and removed it multiple times - and in the end, it just seems hard to get it right. We want the red fabric to fuse with the dark design of the kimono. We imagine long dancing nights and want it to retain that energy and not to just become a “red&black” kimono.

Thanks for any help! We’ll update you with the final design, so please follow if you want to find out :)

Can you spot the inspiration? Happy Easter 🐣

This is the Atimonan church, a colorful and ancient building, in the center of a small coastal village, which we call our home. The golden lines matching the ones on our unique kimono, transformed from a cylindrical fabric imprinted with a Malong pattern - a pattern from the southern most Philippine island.
