I can’t believe it’s been a year. I realized I never really shared what this collection means to me. Suwat sa Gugma was built on poetry as a discipline of art, and on a crumpled, creased love letter. Hearing Matud Nila again by the Philippine Madrigal Singers takes me back to where it all began.

The 𝑺𝒉𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒊 姉妹 Dresses
A story of sisterhood between Japan and the Philippines

Inspired by Okinawan Bingata, a traditional Japanese fabric with a vivid palette, I stitched it together with cotton fabrics from Cebu, cut into strips like banderitas from a local fiesta–a celebration of two cultures and their friendship, connected by a single ribbon that unites them as one.

The dresses were worn by Pat and Amber from Anya’s Home, an NGO and orphanage that opens its doors to children in need.
If you wish to support their cause, you can reach out or donate directly to Anya’s Home. 🩵

Big thanks to Cebu Fashion Runway team and FIDA fam!

The Grant 2025 official entry

1/2
In everything I create, I make sure each piece holds a version of me.
Maybe that’s why I treat them like time capsules, places where I pour the feelings, the thoughts, and the quiet moments I don’t always (or never) say out loud.
When I look back, I see who I was and who I’m still becoming.

For The Grant 2025, where I stand as one of the Top 20 finalists, I made a piece that speaks of my metamorphosis.
Growth isn’t gentle. I’ve resisted change more times than I can count, holding on to what once was.
It asks you to shed what feels safe, to face yourself, to move even when you’d rather stay still.
But maybe that’s where becoming begins, in the moments you finally allow yourself to change.

And while we grow, we scatter seeds around us with every risk we take, every small act of courage, and every decision that shapes who we are and who we will be.
All we can really do is trust the seeds we’re planting, knowing they’ll bloom where they’re meant to — in the right places, with the right people, at the right time.

Watch our exhibit at Centro de Turismo, Intramuros until October 9, 2025.

Introducing another batch of finalists for The Grant 2025, Fashion Aid Philippines’ program celebrating emerging Filipino talents in fashion, accessories, and lifestyle.

Joshua Chiong brings a couture sensibility to his work, aiming to create pieces that embody the artistry and precision of luxury fashion. His vision is rooted in building a Filipino-owned brand with global reach—one that champions local craftsmanship on the world stage.

Lee Villanueva approaches footwear design as both statement and craft. Her work blends structural innovation with elaborate detail, resulting in pieces that carry a sense of artistry, presence, and individuality.

Caesy Coronel merges design and construction with a distinctly artistic perspective. Her creations are conceived as wearable works of art—pieces that invite a personal connection between the garment and its wearer.

Marigrace Reaño is a jewelry designer whose work reflects boldness, beauty, and authenticity. Guided by the belief that style should be empowering and accessible, she creates pieces that encourage confidence and self-expression, particularly for women and mothers.
