STT GDC’s largest data center in PH build on track



Construction of ST Telemedia Global Data Centres Philippines’ (STT GDC Philippines) Fairview site is on track for completion following its groundbreaking earlier this year, its CEO shared at a recent media briefing. The Fairview site is touted to become the country’s largest data center once finished.



In line with their focus on delivering on their plans, Carlo Malana, President and CEO of STT GDC Philippines, shared his enthusiasm about the ongoing project.



“When we announced STT Fairview in May this year, activities already started the night after the groundbreaking. The area has already been leveled out and prepared for construction,” Malana said.



"Digital is expanding everywhere. And of course, there's a need for data centers to be able to support this digital expansion. With respect to the Fairview build, a couple of months ago, we announced the groundbreaking of the facility and today, we're continuing to go on track. And we expect to continue to stay on track for our early 2025 ready-for-service date that we have announced in the past. So looking forward to that,” he added.



This announcement comes on the heels of STT GDC Philippines' aggressive expansion plans across its three existing data centers located in Makati, Cavite, and Quezon City.



With a combined capacity expansion of 5.2MW set for Q3 this year, the company is poised to surpass the capacity of most single data centers locally. This expansion is a direct response to the high market demand and the ongoing digital transformation sweeping the nation.



In May, the company unveiled its plans for the STT Fairview data center campus. Touted as the largest, most interconnected, sustainable, and carrier-neutral data center campus in the country, STT Fairview is designed to serve at an impressive IT capacity of 124MW. The initial phase of its operations is slated for early 2025.



STT GDC Philippines is a joint venture between Globe, the Ayala Corporation, and Singapore-based ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC). As the digital landscape of the Philippines continues to evolve, STT GDC Philippines is committed to being a pivotal part of this transformation, ensuring that the nation is well-equipped to handle the digital future.
