Made in partnership between Metzler Germany and Carl Zeiss for their high-end range of sunglasses in the 1960s with their interpretation of futuristic, space age design. The frames have a clean, aerodynamic shape with the eyebrow pieces extending to be nose pads as well giving these a truly unique, sporty but luxurious look.

West German eyewear from this time period were considered one of the best in terms of manufacturing quality and tolerances hence the longevity.

Very rare.

○Signs of wear, but no other major issues.

Very-rare and perfect for motorcycle enthusiasts; these are first-generation c. 1965 Olympian I DLX sunglasses complete with the correct, early Ray-Ban leather Olympian hard case that is extremely rare to come by. These were famously worn by Peter Fonda in the 1969 movie, Easy Rider.

This is a perfect example of 1960s Space Age design, and for a frame that is 60 years old, it is still perfectly futuristic looking even today.

Lost to internet history, but back in the day Rodenstock had a limited promotional partnership with Chevrolet to promote their new eyewear design to coincide with new car launches, such as the 1965 Corvair and then the 1968 Corvette.

We feel that this frame design, complete with the tree-bark texture and gradient amber lenses, perfectly captures that 60s Carnaby St. look and 70s Elton John.

○Used, but in very good condition. Original AO mineral glass lenses are 100% mint condition.

One of the (if not the) very first rectangular pilot sunglasses design by American Optical released in 1951. These precede the 1957 Ray-Ban Caravan and the famous 1958 American Optical Type-58 Pilots. These are rare to come by in great condition, let alone in a larger size comparable to modern frames.

It's interesting to note the upswept, trapezoidal lens shape that gives the eyebrow profile a slightly "cateye" shape which was common for men to wear back then. Celebrities like Sean Connery wore such shapes and most prominently on-screen in Dr. No as worn by Jack Lord's Felix Leiter.

A very nice example of 1990s "Art-Moderne" eyewear, influenced by Bauhaus, Art-Deco Revival, and Memphis Milano Design produce eyewear of simple shapes but with colorful and antiqued frame options. It's right at home on the set of Frasier or The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and would make excellent prescription glasses or turn these into very cool statement sunglasses.

Produced by the Courtland workshop since the late-1960s/early-1970s, these Vitelloni frames are a close approximate to the "Mod-style" sunglasses Bob Dylan wears. It's a space-age 1960s look that is right at home with café racers and tailored gents.

○Comes with Original Sky Blue Suede Vuarnet pouch.

Originally designed in 1969, this Vuarnet model has adorned the faces of legendary actors like Alain Delon and more recently worn by Daniel Craig in No Time To Die. These are sporting sunglasses hence the lightweight performance acetate frames and very, very dark brown lenses meant for the glaciers and the sea. We are able to identify this as an early-1980s model due to the logo design and laser print on the temples. Very well-preserved and perfect for Bond fans and sports enthusiasts alike.
