That’s one of the hardest questions anyone in love will ever have to answer.

You see, when trust is broken and the heart is bruised, our emotions can cloud our judgment. One day you want to fight for it, the next day you just want to be free. That’s normal. It means your heart is trying to make sense of something your mind still can’t fully understand.

Here’s what I’ve learned: love is worth saving only when both of you are willing to do the work. It can’t just be one person holding everything together while the other keeps tearing it apart. Healing a relationship takes honesty, humility, and a shared desire to rebuild what was broken.

If the person who hurt you still chooses silence over truth, or pride over change, then maybe it’s time to walk away not because you stopped loving them, but because you finally chose to love yourself enough to let go.

Sometimes walking away isn’t giving up. It’s giving God the space to heal what you can’t fix on your own.

She noticed the silence, the tears, and the apologies that always came from the wrong person.
She grew up understanding the kind of love her mother endured and she promised herself she never would.

So now, when you wonder why she feels distant,
why she sets boundaries,
why she doesn’t rush to call or visit,
it’s not because she’s bitter.
It’s because she learned from what she witnessed.

Forgiveness doesn’t always mean reconciliation.
Sometimes it means healing from what you taught her to accept.

And daughters?
They remember everything you thought they were too young to understand.

Never take consistency, care, or presence for granted. When someone gives their all and is met with indifference, they eventually learn the power of walking away without explanation. Silence can be the loudest response, and absence the strongest reminder of what was lost.

Life is too short to waste your time on people who don't respect, appreciate, and value you. Spend your life with people who make you smile, laugh, and feel loved. You cannot control the behavior of others, but you can always choose how you respond to it.
