𝙊𝙍𝙄𝙀𝙉𝙏𝘼𝙇 𝘽𝙇𝙄𝙎𝙎 — 𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘩𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦. 🦪

In the 𝐒𝐀𝐕𝐕𝐘 𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐍 Vol. 4, the 𝘖𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘉𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘴 section is heavily inspired by the traditional Filipiniana, with a modern twist. This collection highlights the traditional Filipiñana sleeves, made by the students of BTVTED - Garments and Fashion Design, along with their ideal Filipiniana designs.

This project was presented under the direction of their Major Subject Instructor, Ma'am Aiza Velicaria.

𝗕𝗜𝗦𝗖𝗔𝗦𝗧 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

The Bicol State College of Applied Sciences and Technology (BISCAST) formalized a new industry–academe partnership with Pat and Kaith Tailoring Services through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing on January 28, 2026, at the BISCAST Demo Room.

The partnership strengthens hands-on training and skills development for Bachelor in Technical Vocational–Teacher Education (BTVTED) students majoring in Garments and Fashion Design, aligned with GFDT 010 (Mass Production Techniques and Management) in the BTVTED curriculum.

The initiative was spearheaded by Ms. Aiza R. Velicaria, GFD Instructor, with Pat and Kaith Tailoring Services represented by its owner Ms. Mary Ann B. Rivarez, a TESDA Dressmaking Assessor.

The MOU signing was witnessed by the BISCAST administration led by SUC President II Prof. Charlie P. Nacario, PhD, together with Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Apolonia C. Sebello and Vice President for Administration and Finance Mr. Abbas F. Villalon, signaling strong institutional support for industry-responsive education.

With the support of Asst. Prof. Rosalie S. Magistrado, Dean of the College of Education, the partnership reinforces BISCAST’s commitment to preparing future TVET educators and professionals with market-ready, industry-aligned skills.

Each piece reflects the value of reusing materials, reducing waste, and giving pre-loved items a fresh new purpose. Through this collection, we celebrate style that is both unique and environmentally friendly.

📣 LOOK:
The “Threads and Competence” seminar-workshop provided a valuable learning experience for BTVTED-GFD students. Ma’am Mary Ann V. Ravirez, DRESSMAKING TESDA ASSESSOR, discussed TESDA’s NC II standard pattern construction and the competencies under the Dressmaking NC II qualification. During the afternoon session, students applied their learning by constructing blouse and pants patterns under her guidance.

The activity was initiated and organized by Ma’am Aiza R. Velicaria, BTVTED-GFD Instructor, who also assisted Ma’am Ravirez throughout the workshop. Her initiative and support contributed greatly to the success of this enriching and skill-enhancing event.
