The PRS SE McCarty 594 is designed to capture the essence of vintage guitar tones while delivering modern reliability. Named after Ted McCarty, the legendary guitar pioneer who influenced Paul Reed Smithโs early designs, this model strikes a balance between classic character and contemporary playability. This limited edition features a striking laurel burl veneer, adding a unique look to this popular model.
At its core, the SE McCarty 594 features a mahogany body with a maple top, combining warmth and sustain with a touch of brightness. The Pattern Vintage mahogany neck provides a familiar yet refined feel, while the rosewood fingerboard, adorned with PRS bird inlays, offers smooth playability across all 22 frets. The 24.594โ scale lengthโjust slightly shorter than typical PRS modelsโcontributes to its vintage feel, adding to the guitarโs natural warmth and character.
Equipped with PRS 58/15 LT โSโ pickups, the SE McCarty 594 Laurel Burl Limited Edition delivers clarity and fullness in equal measure. These pickups are designed to evoke the tones of the iconic instruments from the โ50s, with the ability to handle both clean and overdriven settings with ease. The push/pull tone controls further enhance the guitarโs versatility, allowing players to access both humbucking and single-coil tones in one instrument.
