Comment your favourite comforting Urdu word. 🤍

You know how sometimes someone says something in Urdu and you immediately feel a little better?

Not because they said anything particularly profound. It’s just the way the words land.

“Bas theek hai.”
“Fikr na karo.”
“Sab ho jayega.”

Somehow, Urdu has a way of making ordinary reassurance sound like someone has pulled a chair up beside you and said, I’m here.
Maybe that’s why certain Urdu words stay with us long after the conversation is over or perhaps that’s why some words feel less like language and more like home. 🤍

Maybe it’s the language you slip back into without thinking. The food that tastes different when you’ve been away for too long. The familiar chaos of family gatherings. The streets you could still find your way through, even years later.

Maybe it’s the traditions you carry into a new home without even realising you’re carrying them.

Because sometimes, home is not where you live. It’s the little things that remind you where you belong.

And for so many of us, those little things lead back to Pakistan. 🇵🇰

You can move across cities, countries, even continents. You can build a life somewhere completely new.

Azaadi ka din mubarak, pyari Manto Family! 💚🇵🇰

Let’s take a little trip down memory lane, back to the 90s, when we celebrated 14th August like it was Eid.

Green and white clothes, little flags everywhere, homes covered in jhandiyan, milli naghmein playing on TV all day, and the streets filled with friends running around with flags in their hands. 🇵🇰

The excitement would start days before. Getting our outfits ready, decorating the house, waiting for the celebrations and somehow feeling like the whole country was celebrating together. ❤️

We were too young to understand the bigger meaning of independence. We just knew that 14th August was special. ✨

Maybe that’s why those memories feel so nostalgic today. The celebrations were simpler, the excitement was real, and happiness really did come from the smallest things. 🥹

Sab kehte hain zindagi ke safar mein hum sirf musaafir hain. 🌃

Lekin kabhi socha hai, musaafir hona asal mein kya hota hai?

Maybe it means walking into places within yourself that you have never been before.

There is no audience for that journey. No one sees the person you were, slowly becoming someone else. No one knows how many fears you had to sit with, how many truths you had to face, or how much of yourself you had to unlearn along the way.

Aur shayad isi liye khud tak ka safar itna tanha hota hai. 🌃

You get lost sometimes. Not on a road, but somewhere between who you thought you were and who you are becoming.

Kabhi khamoshi itni gehri hoti hai ke apne khayalaat ki awaaz sunai dene lagti hai.

But maybe that is where the real journey begins. 💫

When you stop looking for directions outside yourself. When you learn to sit with the uncomfortable truths. When you realise that perhaps you were never meant to find someone to show you the way.

You were meant to find your own. 🌷

And then, one day, you look around and everything seems exactly as it was.

Except you.
