Last year, a Libyan hujjaj named Amer Al-Mahdi Mansour Al-Gaddafi arrived at the airport ready for Hajj. But during the procedures, he was stopped because of an issue connected to his name and passport.
While the matter was being resolved, the rest of the pilgrims boarded the plane
and it departed without him.
The officers at the airport tried to comfort him and told him that perhaps it was simply not written for him that year.
But Amer did not leave.
He stayed at the airport with complete certainty that if Allah ﷻ had written Hajj for him, nothing could stop it. He kept repeating that his intention was Hajj, and that he believed he would still go.
Then something happened that people still speak about until today.
The plane returned because of a technical malfunction.
But even then, he still was not allowed to board. The plane departed again without him.
And then… it returned a second time.
By then, even the pilot was affected by what was unfolding.
Reports mention that he finally said: “I will not fly unless Amer is on this plane.”
SubhanAllah.
There are moments where Allah ﷻ allows a person to witness Qadr unfolding in front of their own eyes.
Not because they forced it.
Not because they controlled it.
But because they held onto certainty in Allah.
Amer’s story was not only about a flight returning twice.
It was about a heart that refused to lose hope in the invitation of Allah.
What Allah has written for you will reach you—even if the road bends, delays, or turns back twice.
O Allah, grant us unshakeable certainty in You, write for us the visit to Your Sacred House, and do not deprive us of Your invitation.
