Antigamente, era usado para proteger quase todas as cabeças portuguesas do sol. Foi em tempos um símbolo de moda, mas caiu em desuso... mas nós não queremos esquecer as tradições, principalmente quando fazem todo o sentido de existirem. Daí o chapéu Turdus merula. Feito à mão, de palha de centeio, é o resultado de uma técnica com uma longa e vasta história proveniente do Minho.
Once, it was used to protect almost all Portuguese heads from the sun. It was also a fashion symbol but fell into disuse, so we didn’t want to forget traditions, especially when they made perfect sense to exist, and we created the Turdus merula hat.
Handmade from rye straw, it’s the result of a technique with a long and vast history in Minho (a historic province in the Northern region of Portugal).
