KOREAN SKINCARE TONER
In Korean beauty, a toner is not for cleansing. The main purpose of a toner is to balance the skin’s pH level after face washing (which tends to make the skin more alkaline). Using a toner helps the rest of the skincare steps work more effectively.
In addition to the basic benefit of normalizing the pH, toners can have a variety of added features, depending on the specific brands.
For example: pore tightening, hydrating, oil control, anti-aging, soothing, and so on.
To keep things interesting, toners aren’t always called that. The other common names are: starter, refresher, and skin. “Skin” typically refers to toners that are thicker and more gel-like vs watery in texture.
There are three main types of toner available on the market today:
🟢alcohol-based formulas.
🟡glycerin or glycol-based.
⚪water-based.
♥️KOREAN SKINCARE ESSENCE
A Korean essence is somewhere between a toner and a serum. It is usually not as light and watery as a toner, but at the same time it is not as concentrated as a serum. In fact, the main objective of a Korean essence is to nourish the skin with ingredients that are safe for regular, daily use.
💛What does skincare essence do?
Essence is a water-based skin care product that contains a high content of active ingredients to hydrate, protect, and boost the overall health of skin. When essence is applied to clean skin after using a cleanser and toner, it helps restore hydration to the skin cells
