Before we even get into Dwayne Wayne’s sneaker rotation, understand something… there was no nostalgia involved 😂 These were the OG releases people!!!! Bro was giving us sneaker history IN REAL TIME. 😂
The Jordan 4 dropped in 1989, and A Different World was airing right through that era. Black Cement, White Cement, Fire Red and Military Blue were all original 1989 AJ4 colorways. The first AJ4 retros wouldn’t arrive until 1999 😳
And the shoes were actually there for some memorable episodes. In “Dr. War Is Hell,” Dwayne is stressing over taking calculus with Col. Taylor, the professor everybody called “Dr. War.” Loved that joint 😂
Then in “Sweet Charity,” Dwayne and Ron end up in a basketball commercial opposite Hall of Famers Rick Barry and Walt Hazzard. That was episode 65—the same episode documented with Dwayne in the Nike Flight ’89 🤝
