这是一本能让你和宝宝体会简单的快乐。
This is one book that we would choose as the first book for our babies.
As parents, we love the simple joy this book brings, with repetitive “蹦 bèng!!” and will take the opportunity to jump at every “蹦 bèng”. I have so much fun with my 1.5yo and his 3yo sister.
The young minds will be able to associate 蹦 bèng with jump. We get to explore why snails can't jump (brought them to a nearby park to observe how a garden snail moves.)
One of my takeaways from the book - While it may be funny on how the snail can't jump like the rest of the others in the book, do we laugh and move on or do we pause and reflect? I found myself pointing out to my kids that it is okay to be different like the snail, we are all unique in our own ways. We can help our children to be more empathetic and its never too young to start them on it.
As quoted from Science Daily, ""The findings indicate that even during a baby's first year, the infant is already sensitive to others' feelings and can draw complicated conclusions about the context of a particular emotional display," says Dr. Florina Uzefovsky, head of the BGU Bio-Empathy Lab, and senior lecturer in BGU's department of psychology and the Zlotowski Center for Neuroscience."
Other studies show that around 2 years of age, children start to show genuine empathy, understanding how other people feel even when they don't feel the same way themselves. They can feel another person's pain, and could actually try to soothe it.

In our resource guide for parents, we have included a story flow on how you could narrate to your babies. We think this would be helpful for a wonderful illustrated book with simple chinese text.
