A furniture piece for the beautifully corrupted.
Another experiment born from our ROGUE line, created for a client and one of the few furniture pieces we’ve ever undertaken. It took nearly two years of trial, error, and refinement to arrive at what you see today.
The timber is intentionally aged, allowing weather, time, and temperature to alter its surface naturally. Drawing from relic and worn guitar finishing techniques, we embraced imperfection rather than fighting it.
At its centre, a serpent appears frozen in motion, while swimming through a pool of blood beneath glass. Surrounding it are hand-sculpted cavernous textures, with every rock meticulously carved and the table’s edges blackened and formed to resemble weathered stone found deep within caves.
What makes this piece particularly special is how many different disciplines came together in its creation. The process drew from carpentry, taxidermy, relic replication, finishing techniques from custom guitar building, sculpting, mould making, and countless hours of material experimentation. Many of these skills were completely outside our comfort zone, forcing us to learn, adapt, and solve problems as the piece evolved.
Every detail was learned through experimentation. Every texture, finish, and contour came from countless hours of testing, failing, and refining. Piece by piece, detail by detail, the table slowly became what it is today.
The table is also fully modular. Its legs can be removed, allowing it to function as either a coffee table or a floor table.
We’re damn excited to finally share this piece. It remains one of the most technically demanding and labour-intensive objects we’ve ever created.
