At Aerie, thoughtful choices start with understanding what goes into the products we use every day.

That’s why we created our Ingredient Spotlight series — a closer look at common ingredients found in baby care products and the considerations behind our formulation decisions.

Today’s spotlight: PHMB & Phenoxyethanol

While these ingredients are commonly used in personal care products, we chose to formulate Aerie without them as part of our commitment to a gentle and minimalist formulation approach.

Dermatologically tested & hypoallergenic tested based on Japan testing standards 🤍

As I started learning more about baby and toddler skincare, I realized how many ingredients parents may not even notice on product labels.

Different wipes use different antibacterial and preservation systems — which is why some parents choose to be more intentional about the ingredients used for everyday cleansing.

Today’s post shares a little more about ingredients such as:
• Benzalkonium Chloride (BKC)
• MIT / CMIT preservatives
• Added fragrance

Especially because baby and toddler skin is delicate, and their skin barrier is still developing.
