Let’s do this!

🥂 Happy 2025 to every artist and art lover out there!

I started the year with a quiet day yesterday—because, as the saying goes, what you do on January 1st sets the tone for the whole year. And one thing I know for sure? I don’t want to stress about social media in 2025!

To kick things off, I thought I’d finally make an post! It was such an interesting (and slightly nerve-wracking) process to collect 8 pieces that represent my work from last year. I’m still not sure how I feel about it, but one thing is clear: I made a lot of art in 2024! And honestly, that was my only resolution, so I’m proud of that.

What do I wish for in 2025?
✨ To refine my style—it still feels a little clumsy and inconsistent to me.
✨ To write more! I used to love writing as a child, and it’s something I’d love to explore again.
✨ To build a killer portfolio—I’m ready to take on more professional projects (this one’s a biggie!).
✨ To stress less and create more—some things never change.
🤫 Oh, and maybe (finally) start that YouTube channel I’ve been dreaming about! What do you think? 🤔

Thank you for being here through all the changes and for supporting me along the way. I can’t wait to see what this year holds—hopefully, it’s full of art, growth, and creativity!

See you and hopefully your lovely art this year,
Anita

Festive feast today’s prompt for the creative challenge.

A couple days back I drew a pattern of Christmas cookies and I knew I have to make the cookies with collage too!
I think these linzer cookies are so cute, I want to eat them!

Who wants a Festive feast?

Dec 6th Wonderful Windows

I could’ve gone with a more Christmasy interpretation of the prompt, but I love old church windows. And glass art of any sort. I love how geometric and colorful it can be… so here are my wonderful windows inspired by rosettes.

Which color is your favorite? 🩷💙💛🌈

Work in progress, what a throwback…

Unfinished projects are not something we often see on IG nowadays. One would think everyone is a superhuman and can produce high quality pictures, paintings, art, etc… every day.

Then we compare ourselves to this perfect picture of a human, who doesn’t exist, and we are sad when we cannot produce as quickly as that superhuman can.

When in reality that superhuman is stressed too, they want to show the perfect version of their art because everyone else is showing their best art, and thus the evil cycle is created.

And I really wanted to join in on the challenge starting today, but I couldn’t finish my drawing in time.

So I am sharing with you my right now, because I still like the idea, and I want to make it!

Let go of the notion that everything has to be finished and polished before sharing with the world, and share a work in progress! People are curious about your process!
