Salone Style

Salone Style Salone Style is a jewellery design cooperative that supports a group of women in Sierra Leone, West Africa.

Founded in October 2011, we are a jewellery design cooperative that supports a group of women in Sierra Leone, West Africa. Our jewellery is handmade from locally sourced materials, including local fabrics and beads made out of glass, clay, bone, paper and metal. Working with disadvantaged women, we aim to empower them with a business opportunity. We partner with design experts to mentor women and

introduce them to a unique set of skills. Our lead designer is Rikke Clevin Jensen, a jewellery designer who trained at Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design in London. All proceeds from the sale of Salone Style products are re-invested back into the social enterprise to buy materials and pay the women fair wages for their work. Salone Style jewellery is sold in boutiques across four continents and is currently available to be purchased in London (UK), Toronto (Canada), Capetown (South Africa), Sydney (Australia) and Freetown (Sierra Leone). Stockists: Merchants on Long, Mercantile London, Indigo Bazaar, Tacugama Gift Shop, YWCA Boutique, Stephen Lewis Foundation, Robbery Art Gallery

Co-founders: Rikke Clevin Jensen (Head of Design), Marisa Zawacki (Head of Operations)
