Our first ever collection is called the YAMACOUBA COLLECTION. Why YAMACOUBA??
QUEEN YAMACOUBA was a powerful Sherbro leader who played a significant role in Sierra Leone’s history. She’s notable for being one of the signatories to the 1787 treaty that ceded land to the British for the establishment of the Province of Freedom. Her diplomatic efforts showcase her strategic thinking and leadership skills, making her an inspiration for modern women.
This collection is titled the “Yamacouba Collection” with the express purpose of bringing light and honor to her name, ensuring she is celebrated alongside other national heroines such as Mammy Yoko.

We strive to honour the past while creating a vibrant and wearable future. And also telling Sierra Leone’s history. We do not only want to promotes Sierra Leone artistry but also supports local artisans or craftsmen and sustainable practices. It the brand’s mission to empower African communities, preserve cultural identity, and offer unique, high quality fashion to a global audience.

Cowrie shells
Cowrie shells has played a significant role in human history.
Their smooth, glossy appearance and unique shape have made them enduringly popular in art and design In West Africa, cowrie shells were used as currency until the 19 century. This shells has been used in rituals, divination ( to connect with ancestors and deities) and as a symbol of wealth, fertility and protection.
In many African cultures, cowrie shells are associated with femininity, goddess worship and spiritual power.
In Mende culture, cowrie shells are viewed as symbols of womanhood, fertility. It underside is supposed to represent a v***a or an eye (according to one modern ethnographic author)
