A Mother’s Love, Even When I Stand Alone
I have been a mother on my own since the very beginning—since the day I knew a small life was growing inside me. From pregnancy to childbirth, through every sleepless night and every quiet tear, I have walked this journey alone. And now, two years have passed. My child is two years old, and I am still here, still standing, still holding his hand with all the strength I have.
Being a single mother is not the life I once dreamed of. My dream was simple: a family of three—father, mother, and child—laughing together, supporting each other, sharing love. But that dream feels so far away now, almost fading into the distance like a light that grows dimmer each day.
There are days when my heart feels unbearably heavy. I feel lonely. I feel tired. Sometimes, I feel like no one sees how hard I try, how much I sacrifice, or how deeply I hurt. I wonder if he will ever understand what it has been like… if he will ever know the exhaustion, the sadness, and the silent battles I fight every single day.
But when I look at my child, everything changes.
A mother’s love is powerful—stronger than pain, stronger than disappointment, stronger than the life I once imagined. I may not be able to give him a perfect family, but I will give him everything I have. My time. My strength. My dreams. Even the pieces of my own heart.
My love may not look beautiful to the world. It may not be the kind of love written in fairy tales. It is messy, tired, and sometimes full of tears. But it is real. It is patient. It endures.
I will keep going, even when I feel like I cannot take another step. I will endure, even when my heart aches. Because for my child, I am not allowed to give up.
I am his mother. And that alone gives me the strength to continue.
