Here's something I don't often talk about.
One of the very first pairs of Thai fisherman pants I ever bought lasted me more than 11 years.
I wore them at least once a week — quite often as nightwear — and they became one of those pieces of clothing you just reach for without thinking.
Eventually, after more than a decade of regular wear, they finally became too tatty to wear.
But I still couldn't throw them away.
I cut them up and used the fabric as dusting cloths instead. 😂
That's a pretty good life for a pair of trousers.
And it's one of the reasons I have such a soft spot for traditional Thai fisherman pants. Good fabric, good tailoring and a simple design can make a remarkably durable piece of clothing.
