Many people have never heard of Puu Pae.
It is a small village nestled in the mountains, about 40 kilometers from the nearest district town. Most families here rely on agriculture, and at first glance, there may seem to be nothing particularly remarkable about the village.
But for KLEEPO, Puu Pae is special.
What we found here was not a famous landmark or a well-known craft tradition. We found a small group of women—just three or four households—whose skills, creativity, and dedication continue to inspire us every day.
The women of Puu Pae possess an extraordinary knowledge of textile making. They weave, create intricate traditional patterns, embroider distinctive motifs, and dye cotton using plants gathered from the forests and fields surrounding their village. These skills have been shaped through years of practice and passed down through generations.
What makes their work even more remarkable is the cotton they choose to use.
Unlike the thicker cotton commonly found in many weaving communities, the women of Puu Pae work with fine twisted cotton yarn. It creates a softer and more refined fabric, but it is also far more difficult to dye with natural colors. Achieving beautiful, lasting shades requires patience, experience, and a deep understanding of the materials.
Yet time and time again, they succeed.
Using bark, leaves, roots, and other natural materials found around their village, they create colors with a richness and character that cannot be replicated by synthetic dyes. Each shade reflects both the landscape they live in and the knowledge they have carefully preserved.
Today, Puu Pae is the only village where KLEEPO is involved throughout the entire process—from selecting the cotton to natural dyeing and weaving. By working closely with the women and their families, we are able to ensure that every textile produced by this group is dyed using 100% natural dyes.

You are supporting the women who continue to keep these traditions alive. You are helping create meaningful income for families in a remote mountain community. And you are helping preserve knowledge that might otherwise disappear with time.

หลายคนอาจไม่เคยได้ยินชื่อ “หมู่บ้านปูแป้”
หมู่บ้านเล็ก ๆ บนดอย ที่อยู่ห่างจากตัวอำเภอราว 40 กิโลเมตร ผู้คนส่วนใหญ่ยังคงใช้ชีวิตด้วยการทำเกษตรกรรม และหากถามว่าหมู่บ้านนี้โดดเด่นเรื่องอะไร คำตอบอาจไม่ชัดเจนนัก
แต่สำหรับ KLEEPO เราเห็นบางสิ่งที่พิเศษกว่านั้น
เราได้พบกับกลุ่มแม่บ้านเพียง 3–4 ครัวเรือน ที่มีทักษะงานหัตถกรรมในระดับที่หาได้ยาก ทั้งการทอผ้า การจกลวดลายแบบดั้งเดิม การปักลายที่มีเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะตัว และความรู้เรื่องการย้อมสีจากพืชพรรณธรรมชาติรอบหมู่บ้านที่สั่งสมกันมาหลายชั่วอายุคน
สิ่งที่ทำให้เราประทับใจเป็นพิเศษ คือฝ้ายที่พวกเขาเลือกใช้
ไม่ใช่ฝ้ายเส้นใหญ่ที่พบได้ทั่วไปในหลายชุมชน แต่เป็นฝ้ายเกลียวเส้นเล็ก ซึ่งให้สัมผัสที่ละเอียดและสวยงามกว่า ทว่าแลกมาด้วยความยากในการย้อมสีอย่างมาก เพราะเส้นใยชนิดนี้รับสีธรรมชาติได้ยาก ต้องอาศัยทั้งประสบการณ์ ความอดทน และความเข้าใจในวัตถุดิบอย่างลึกซึ้ง
แต่แม่ ๆ ที่ปูแป้กลับสามารถดึงสีสันจากธรรมชาติออกมาได้อย่างน่าทึ่ง
จากเปลือกไม้ ใบไม้ รากไม้ และพืชที่หาได้รอบหมู่บ้าน กลายเป็นเฉดสีที่นุ่มนวล ลุ่มลึก และมีชีวิตในแบบที่สีสังเคราะห์ไม่สามารถเลียนแบบได้
ทุกวันนี้ ปูแป้เป็นหมู่บ้านเดียวที่ KLEEPO เข้าไปทำงานร่วมอย่างใกล้ชิดในทุกขั้นตอน ตั้งแต่การคัดเลือกฝ้าย การย้อมสี ไปจนถึงการทอผืนผ้า ทำให้เราสามารถรับรองได้อย่างมั่นใจว่า ผลงานจากกลุ่มช่างทอแห่งนี้ย้อมด้วยสีธรรมชาติ 100%
