What really happens during sunrise at Stonehenge for the Summer Solstice 2025?

We unintentionally found ourselves just 20 minutes away—and arrived during one of the most powerful mornings of the year. Over 25,000 people gathered at the sacred stones for a vibrant celebration of light, music, energy, and community.

This 7-minute video captures the sunrise, the atmosphere, and what it felt like to stand among the stones on solstice morning.

We were staying in Pewsey, near Wiltshire, without realizing how close we were to Stonehenge—or the nearby crop circles.

After a spontaneous encounter at a local crystal shop, we were gifted insider info: a peaceful local parking spot and walking route. It turned out to be one of the most magical, unplanned experiences of our travels.

Florida had been on the list for years — and Miami Beach delivered in full color. From pastel Art Deco buildings and beach breezes to cocktails at The Carlyle, this was the perfect way to end our road trip.

After a snowy house sit in Michigan, we packed up the car and hit the road, heading south toward a transatlantic cruise. Along the way? A surprise favorite stop: Castillo de San Marcos in St. Augustine, Florida.

We didn’t go inside the fort, but walking the ancient coquina walls, gazing over the bay, and checking out the cannon displays gave us a real sense of history.

Bonus: the tacos after were 🔥

Sometimes the detours turn out to be the best chapters.
