Congrats to Ms. Alison Woods
Inspector General of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force.
Ms. Woods is the first female/person to hold this newly minted position of Inspector General in the Royal Turks and Caicos Police force and first female on the executive.

The Inspector General sits directly on the Force Executive, alongside the Commissioner, Deputy Commissioners, and the Chief Operating Officer.

The Rotary Club of St. Augustine’s Early Steps to Success initiative focuses on improving literacy and early childhood development through the “Story Spaces for Young Explorers” program.

The project aims to create engaging reading spaces in primary schools within the Tunapuna, St. Augustine, and Tacarigua communities to support children aged 5–7 years.

My weekly commitment as a story teller...
Imagine being nervous around 7year olds ..lol
But then I got a hug **melts**

Bringing books ..reading...and childhood imagination back to our schools ...

I saw this role play of a Wpc speaking to a civilian (her mother) in a particular manner even though it was a cute joke, I felt some type of way because out of the mouth of babes cometh the truth...technically she was roughing up the civilian😑😑😑😑😑😑.

So I reached out to her mom and invited her to my office inorder for this young officer who clearly has a lot of potential from the way she spoke to better understand the role and functions of a police officers in society.

We're human beings just like her that we come from, grow-up, live and work it the same community she comes from.

I wanted to change the narrative I wanted her to know that all police officers should always treat people with respect and dignity.

Should she chose this profession it is one of trust, to provide safety and protection and assist persons who need help in dangerous situations.
Also to keep law and order which helps persons to obey the rules/laws of the land...

I also told her the hard truth which is just like any other profession such as doctors, laywers, teachers (btw her mom is a lawyer and her dad is a teacher)and even politicians ect..there are police officer who break the very laws they swear to uphold, they do harm to the people they're suppose to protect and serve.

However it is in the minority and the good police officer now have to work 100 times harder to change narrative and the way the public view and respect us...!
