💦 TIRTA GANGGA, BALI — SAVE THIS FOR YOUR EAST BALI TRIP 🇮🇩
If you’re exploring East Bali, add Tirta Gangga Water Palace to your itinerary. This former royal water palace in Karangasem is known for its lotus ponds, fountains, stone statues, koi fish and the iconic stepping stones across the water. 🌿

📍 Tirta Gangga Water Palace
Ababi, Karangasem, East Bali

✨ What to know before you go:
• Former royal water palace built in the 1940s by the King of Karangasem
• Fed by the natural Rejasa spring
• Famous for the koi pond + stepping stones
• You can feed the fish 🐟
• Swimming is available in designated pools
• Boat rides are available for an additional fee
• Allow around 1–1.5 hours for a relaxed visit
• Go early in the morning for softer light and fewer crowds
• Wear shoes with good grip — the stones around the water can be slippery
• Bring swimwear + a change of clothes if you want to swim
• Bring cash for small extras
• Foreign adult entry is currently around IDR 90,000; prices can change, so check before visiting
• Opening hours are published differently by different sources, so verify on the day you go

Tirta Gangga → Sidemen → Taman Ujung

💡 Tirta Gangga vs Sidemen: they’re different experiences. Tirta Gangga is a short, photogenic cultural stop; Sidemen is better for slowing down, rice terraces, village walks and staying overnight.
