I went into physical therapy school because I wanted answers.

I had dealt with my own back pain since I was 14, and after years of medications, flare-ups and temporary relief, I wanted to understand what was actually going on.

But I don’t think I understood what being a PT really meant yet.

I thought my job would mostly be figuring out what hurts and helping fix it.

Turns out, it’s a lot more human than that.

I’ve had people tear up because they got on the floor and played with their grandkids again.

I’ve watched someone go from being terrified of lifting a weight to realizing, “Wait… I CAN do this.”

And I’ve seen people in their 60s and 70s (even 80s) completely change what they thought aging was supposed to look like.

Those moments have probably taught me just as much as PT school did.

I originally became a physical therapist looking for answers to my own problem.

Now, one of my favorite parts of what I do is helping someone realize their body may be capable of a lot more than they thought.

Our attention is one of the most valuable things we have.

And without realizing it, we can give so much of it to things that don’t reflect what we value most.

We want our home to help shape our kids toward the things that matter.

Faith. Family. Presence. Jesus at the center.

Belief that a student can be better goes a long way..

One of my favorite times with Luigi was talking through a “low season” of the PT application process.

It can feel demotivating when you have 5+ essays, applications, and still have to study for classes.

But through it all, having faith that students can rise and overcome.. and ultimately have success has been an incredibly humbling experience as a PrePT coach.

Not gonna lie.. the best part of the job is when students tell you about all of their acceptance. 🥹
