God Never Leaves
āFor I am the LORD, I change notā¦ā ā Malachi 3:6 KJV
Fall reminds us how quickly things can change. Leaves fade, days grow shorter, and branches that were once full become bare.
Life can change just as quickly. A phone call, diagnosis, loss, broken relationship, or financial crisis can make everything feel uncertain and even fearful. Sometimes trouble comes so suddenly that we wonder, Lord, what am I going to do?
There are seasons when we feel we have reached the end of our strength, answers, and ability to fix things. But the end of our ability has never been the end of Godās power.
āGod is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.ā ā Psalm 46:1 KJV
God is not distant or distracted. He has not forgotten you or changed His mind about you because life has become difficult. The eternal God remains steadfast when everything around you is shaking. He is still mighty, strong, faithful, and in control.
And He knows your name. How amazing š©·
āFear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.ā ā Isaiah 43:1 KJV
The God who hung the stars knows your fears, your unspoken prayers, your tears, and the weariness you carry. He says, āThou art mine.ā
And thatās FOREVER!
When the leaves fall, He remains. When people leave, plans fail, or answers do not come as expected, He remains.
God never promised that His children would avoid deep waters, but He did promise:
āWhen thou passest through the waters, I will be with theeā¦ā ā Isaiah 43:2 KJV
You may have to walk through it, but you will never walk through it alone. Sometimes God changes the circumstance; sometimes He changes us within it. Sometimes He opens a door, and sometimes He gives us grace to stand faithfully while we wait.
But He does not leave.
āā¦for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.ā ā Hebrews 13:5 KJV
Maybe this season feels like fall in your own life. Something you love may be slipping away, and you may see only bare branches where there was once abundance. But bare branches do not mean the tree is dead. There may still be life beneath what you can see.
When you cannot see what God is doing, you can still trust who God is. He is the same God in the falling as in the flourishing, in the valley as on the mountaintop, and at midnight as in the morning.
The world changes. Seasons, people, and circumstances change.
But God never does.
So when crisis comes and you feel you have reached the end, hold tightly to the One who has no ending. He is the God of all eternity. He is steadfast, mighty, and strong. He calls you by name and loves you more deeply than you could ever comprehend.
š When everything around you is falling, remember: God is still standing. And He is still holding you.
Prayer
Lord, when everything around me is changing, help me remember that You never change. When I am frightened by what I cannot control, remind me that nothing is beyond Your control. Thank You for knowing my name, loving me, and promising never to leave me nor forsake me. Help me trust You when I cannot see what You are doing and rest in the truth that You are still God. In Jesusā name, Amen.
