Here in Northeast WI, there are a bunch of great stores for quilting cottons but pretty limited options when it comes to apparel fabrics, such a linen. 🤷🏼♀️
As a result, I’ve found myself perusing the The Linen Lab website quite a few times wondering if it might be a good option to shop when I’m looking for linen for a project. ✨
They were kind enough to gift me some credit towards my first order to try them out and after this unboxing, I am absolutely not disappointed! 🩵
They were advertising these new lightweight Viking Age Windowpane linen fabrics on the homepage, which caught my eye immediately. The texture is so interesting while still feeling soft and the colors are gorgeous - saturated yet not too intense. I can totally picture these as a cute mini dress, or maybe a shorter skirt. 🤩
The Silky Floral Jacquard was a bit outside of my comfort zone but I found the floral motifs to be so subtle and pretty that I wanted to give it a go. I was worried it might be a little stiff from the motifs but it’s actually pretty soft and had a nice drape to it. I’m thinking it will make a nice top of some sort - maybe a Jackie or a Sourdough top! 💁🏼♀️
Overall I’m really impressed - shipping felt quicker than expected and the hardest part of the process was narrowing down what I wanted to order! 😅
Now stay tuned as I start sewing with these fabrics - if you have any suggestions on what I should make, let me know in the comments! 😘
