It's been awesome this past 7 days. Designing and creating new pieces daily is something I normally don't do (not because I wouldn't love to but it's just not enough time in a day). Most of the time, I only get to create 4 or 5 days a month. 😌
Thanks for showing so much love on here. The encouraging words and support were just what was needed to get my creativity (and energy to actually creste) going full speed again.
This last one was an edit to my original sketch. I decided to turn the leather upside down and add more layers. She features hair-on gold and beige leather at top and textured golden leather at the bottom.

I recently attended my family reunion and they asked us to dress in African culture inspired clothing for the banquet, if possible. I had 4 days to prepare and didn't have a cute outfit to wear. A friend had previously shared with me and so I immediately thought of her. BUT since I only had a few days before the reunion I thought it would be too late. Well it wasn't, she got both of my items out to me in time y'all and let me tell you, I was in love! I made earrings very similar to these for me to complement the corset top I decided to wear (see the top in the next pic).

For about 4 or 5 years I've been collecting a lot of ankara fabrics (check out for some of the finest fabrics) in hopes of working on some large ankara and leather projects but I haven't gotten a chance to work on them yet. I was recently texting with a friend and she asked about my progress (Thanks, Laura 😊). While I won't get a chance to start that specific project quite yet, why not add a little bit of ankara fabric to pebbled leather for the challenge. Sometimes it's hard to decide on final details to today we made two pairs (one with posts and one with fish hooks).

I love when I design and sketch, start getting to work to physically create the design but then it evolves during construction. This design began as a single semicircle of leather under the brass accent with hanging leather metals. Then it developed into....well you see it. 😉

It's that time again - when we join other great jewelry artisans in creating, photographing and posting 7 earrings over 7 days ( ). This challenge is just in time for me this year since I've been daydreaming about our fall collection. I got a chance to sketch out some designs last night and can't wait to test them out.
I've been in a major mixed pattern vibe since the spring so there's no surprise that this first design includes bright animal print.

It had been a while since we made one of our signature bib necklaces but whenever someone asks for a custom Daniella, Alyssa, Kennedy, Candice Nora, or Avery we always say yes. It's almost exactly the midpoint of 2022. How are you coming along with those personal and fitness goals that you set at the beginning of the year? Good? Needs Improvement? Still trying? Personally, I don't set new year resolutions but instead set goals throughout the year and just try to stay consistent with my actions to reach and maintain. But one goal that's been an ongoing challenge is to establish a workout regime. I've been working diligently to establish one recently and it's been going well, so far. Even on the days I wake up too late to complete my workout in the mornings, I always get dressed to be ready to exercise at some point before the day is over. Throwback Thursday: I was recently looking through some business folders and came across some photos from when I presented at DC Fashion Week. I immediately thought about the challenges and triumphs associated with that presentation. Preparing for that show required me to go wellllllll beyond my comfort zone. It was the first time I spoke in front of an audience that large to represent my brand. It was the first time I actually had to sit and plan out a collection (sketches and all). It was the first time I had to follow a strict timeline associated with my brand and not just wing it. I learned so much about myself, the brand I wanted to build, the people wanted to connect with, the places I could go. To see now, just how far I've come on a personal and professional level is humbling. Sometimes you just have to spend the time to reflect on your successes and challenges with a heart full of gratitude.
