It is with a very heavy heart that we share that Once Upon a Child in Asheville will close its doors on August 9, 2026.

Making this decision has been one of the hardest moments we’ve ever faced. This store has been so much more than a place to shop — it has been a gathering place, a support system, and a meaningful part of yours & our family’s journey.

Between ongoing employee shortages, the lasting impacts of COVID, and the challenges brought on by Helene, the weight became too much for us little guys to carry.

We have treasured every celebration of a new baby, every toddler milestone, and every proud moment when a child marched in to pick out their “big kid” outfit. Every visit, every smile, and every shared memory has meant the world to us.

Thank you for embracing us, supporting us, and making this store so special.

We will carry these memories with us always.
