Spent the day at the New Orleans School of Cooking with my friend .hancock.58. We took a class where we made gumbo, bbq shrimp and grits, and bananas foster crepes from scratch. It was a really enjoyable cooking and cultural experience.

The nettles in Lawrence Kansas are the perfect right now for harvesting. I picked some this afternoon, blanched, and then sautéed them in butter with a little bit of garlic. Finished off the dish by adding the pesto to some freshly made polenta and topped it with some sautéed shrimp. It sure was tasty, and I have plenty of leftovers for tomorrow as well.
