Thank you to the Little Five Points Alliance who put on a wonderful fundraiser "People Make The Place" yesterday at 7 Stages Theatre. It was beautiful to see all the tributes to some of the businesses and people that make L5P so special and eclectic. It was an honor to be asked to honor my brotha Darryl Harris of Moods Music, which has always been a safe space and hub for lovers of good, soulful music and lifestyle products. I was joined by the brilliant Kemi Bennings , of Soul Sistas Juke Joint/Carrot Dog, my Morehouse brother, Grammy award winning singer/songwriter Kam Corvet (who gave an amazing acoustic performance) and super influencer and creator of the Atlanta Influences Everything brand, Bem Ali Joiner . It was especially cool to hear Darryl tell the story of how listening to my Friday Night show in the late 90s/early 00s, inspired him to open Moods in 2002. It was great to have a panel of such impactful people telling that beautiful audience how important Darryl has been to this city! Most cities aren't blessed with a space like Moods Music and we're eternally grateful to Darryl for his vision and foresight.
