Part 2 — because the movement deserves its own moment.

Watching Misty Copeland glide across that stage was pure art. Then Shaboozey stepped in and the whole energy shifted. What made the Sinners opening so powerful wasn’t just the music — it was the movement.

Hip-hop. African dance. Blues rhythm. Breakdancing. Footwork that felt like it came from every corner of the culture.

You could see the influence of street styles, club styles, and classical training all living on the same stage. From the elegance of ballet to the raw freedom of hip-hop and breakdance, it felt like a celebration of how movement travels, evolves, and connects people.

Dance has always been a language of expression, storytelling, and identity.

And in that moment, the Oscars stage became a living canvas of rhythm, culture, and creativity.

Sinners didn’t just give us a performance — it gave us movement that felt alive .

Part 1
That Sinners opening at the 2026 Oscars gave me chills.

Miles Caton’s voice. Raphael Saadiq’s musical brilliance. Misty Copeland moving like poetry. Brittany Howard’s power. Blues legends like Buddy Guy, Bobby Rush, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram and Eric Gales bringing the roots to life.

It felt like watching generations of Black artistry share the same stage.

A reminder that the sound of the world — blues, rock, soul, gospel — carries our fingerprints.

The Oscars stage turned into a cultural testimony.

And every note told a story. 🔥

It’s truly a shame that Rihanna was placed so close to harm’s way. Incidents like this remind us how quickly situations can turn frightening, even for someone who brings so much light and creativity to the world.

Reports say several shots were fired toward Rihanna’s Beverly Hills home on Sunday, and a 30-year-old woman was taken into custody. One round reportedly struck part of the mansion while the singer was inside. Thankfully, Rihanna was unharmed. It’s still unclear whether other family members were home at the time, but we’re grateful that everyone is safe.

Moments like this must be incredibly traumatic. No one deserves to experience that kind of fear in their own home, celebrity or not. Our prayers are with Rihanna and her family as they process what must have been a very scary situation.

We also hope that the person involved gets the help they clearly need. Violence is never the answer, and situations like this remind us how important it is to care for one another and seek help in difficult moments.

We’re thankful that Rihanna is safe, and we’ll continue to keep her and her loved ones in our thoughts as the investigation continues. 🙏🏽

After watching the conversation between Keke Palmer and Demi Lovato about being young in the industry and dating older men, it opened up a bigger question.

“You’re different.”
“You’re not like other girls.”
“You’re so mature.”

Sometimes that’s not praise.
It’s positioning.

In Hollywood and in everyday life, we’ve normalized teenage girls dating men 5, 10, even 15 years older — and calling it “maturity” instead of what it often is: imbalance.

When a man much older chooses someone very young, we have to ask why.

Women his age often come with boundaries.
With experience.
With expectations.

Younger girls often come with innocence.
Less comparison.
Less relational history.

That’s not automatically romance.
That’s a power dynamic.

Ladies… what do we really think about this?
