This past Saturday, we hosted a watercolor painting class for some of the men of Hale House, a place dedicated to helping men find their way to sobriety.

Our collaboration with The Hale Foundation and Hale House began back in 2021, born from a friendship between Heath Robertson and Kat McCall.

As seen in WRDW’s coverage of the class, about 20 men joined us for the afternoon, using watercolor to create original pieces that represented their own stories, both at Hale House and in life.

As Mary Linda put it, “Watercolor forces you to be patient and take it one step at a time. It’s such a metaphor for life.”

After the class and the news coverage aired, we received two messages that stopped us in our tracks.

Those messages are such a beautiful reminder that Kat’s art has touched more lives than we could ever count. Moments like last Saturday remind us exactly why we have continued Kat’s legacy and why sharing her love of art with others means so much to us.

To Hale House and the Hale Foundation, thank you for the incredible work you do and for being such a gift to this community. We are so grateful to be a small part of it.
