Summer is over, how much older do you look?
While the sun is the best source of Vitamin D and makes us feel good, it can also be damaging to our skin and health. Did you know that sunbathing causes your skin to age? This process is called photoaging, the premature aging of the skin due to prolonged, repeated sun exposure. Photoaging is essentially an indication that the skin has been damaged by the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays.
UVA, UVB and UVC are three different UV ray wavelengths. These rays can damage the skin which, over time, result in visual aging, such as wrinkles and a dry, leathery appearance. While UVA exposure is the least harmful, it does contribute to skin aging, sun spots, skin cancer and DNA damage. UVB rays negatively affect DNA the most; they cause mutations in the DNA and unhealthy cell production.
How do we prevent this from happening? It is widely understood that unprotected skin can be severely damaged by constant exposure to the sun’s UVB and UVA rays, and there are many topical products that can protect the skin from the outside. Did you know you can significantly help prevent sun damage on your skin from the inside?
The human body is naturally equipped to combat damage caused by exposure to UV rays from the inside. One of the skin’s internal protective mechanisms are antioxidants in the skin such as ascorbate, glutathione, and other antioxidants. These antioxidants get depleted in all layers of the exposed skin causing the production of oxidative stress and free radicals. This is really when the DNA gets damaged and the skin shows visible signs of aging.
In the case of sun exposure and UV radiation, the more antioxidants you have in your system, the more you help the skin protect itself. In addition to sunblock, protective clothing and avoidance of the sun when it is most intense, glutathione may help with exposure to the sun. The best thing about glutathione from Pureene is that it has been tested by a third-party certified laboratory.
Pureene Liposomal Glutathione is the most absorbable form of oral glutathione. Our proprietary technology ensures that glutathione is delivered directly to the bloodstream and into our cells where it is needed the most.
