**Sentimental Saturday 🤍**

There is just something about pearls.

They feel classic.
They feel timeless.
And somehow, they always feel a little sentimental.

Maybe it's because pearls are the kind of jewelry that can be passed down, worn on special occasions, tucked away in a jewelry box, and brought out again years later.

They're not really about trends.

They're about **memories.**

**It's finally Friday!** 🎉

The work week is done, the shoes are coming off, and it's time to officially switch from *"I've got things to do"* to *"I deserve to relax."* 😂

Maybe your perfect Friday evening involves a glass of wine, your favorite comfy chair, and a pillow that makes you want to stay right where you are.

Personally, I'm a big fan of getting comfortable and letting the week finally roll off my shoulders. 🍷

In Texas, we don't really say goodbye to summer heat until sometime around Thanksgiving. 😂☀️

But that doesn't mean we don't start craving fall.

Once school is back in session, something changes. The calendar starts moving toward cooler days, football, changing leaves, cozy sweaters... eventually. 😉 And suddenly those warm fall colors start looking really good.

So even if it's still too hot for that sweater, there's nothing stopping you from creating a little cozy corner at home.

Grab your favorite book.
Make yourself a cup of hot tea.
Settle into your favorite chair.

Working On It Wednesday 🧵

Well...this is what I'm working on. 😂

I had every intention of spending last Friday night in the sewing room getting these pieces finished. Instead, I went down a rabbit hole looking for a photograph I was convinced existed so I could put together that collage.

Turns out that the picture did not exist. 🤦‍♀️

So Friday's "making" turned into a whole lot of computer work instead so I'm still trying to get these projects finished.

But you know what? That's part of running a little handmade business, too. Sometimes I'm behind the sewing machine. Sometimes I'm behind the computer trying to make everything else happen.

And on the bright side...I got a LOT of that computer work done, which means I won't have to do much of it the rest of this week. 🙌

Except Pinterest.

There's always Pinterest. 😂

And I'll get there.

**Something new has arrived at Pecan Hollow Boutique…** ✨📖

Well… *new to the boutique*, anyway. 😉

I've been making handmade journals for quite a while, and this one is a perfect example of why I love creating things that you simply can't find on a store shelf.

This isn't just a notebook with a pretty cover.

It started life as an ordinary cookbook before I transformed it into a completely unique art journal—with a fabric-covered exterior, hand-finished details, beautiful papers, pockets, embellishments, and even a beaded bookmark.

And I have to say…

**This one is gorgeous.** ❤️

I have supplies waiting in my studio to make another journal like this, but I'm going to be honest—the amount of time that goes into one of these makes them a very occasional creation for me.

Which means this particular journal is **one of a kind and ready for someone who appreciates the truly unusual.**

So here's a little peek at something different from Pecan Hollow Boutique.

Because while I love making beautiful, practical things for everyday life, I also want Pecan Hollow to have a little room for the **fabulous, the unexpected, and the things you won't find anywhere else.**

Like every good artist, I have evolved along with my skills.

When I started scrapbooking, I made simple books that were keepsakes for myself. I was learning how to combine colors, textures, images and embellishments to tell a story.

Fast forward a few years, and those skills had evolved into something completely different.

Take this journal, for example. The cover is fabric. The design is finished with metallic paint. The interior is made with beautiful, high-quality paper. There are details throughout that make it something completely unique.

And you'd never know it began its life as a cookbook somebody donated to Goodwill.

That evolution is really the story of my creative journey.

I started as a scrapper.
I moved into jewelry.
Then I stitched my way into sewing, learning how to take the things I made and put my own unique spin on them.

When I started sewing, I couldn't sew a straight line to save my life. 😂

Now? I can create a diagonal tote bisected by a zipper, and that zipper will run exactly where I want it to without skipping a beat.

That's evolution.

My goal for Pecan Hollow Boutique is primarily to offer high-quality, practical, everyday items. But no boutique would be quite complete without those absolutely unique and fabulous finds—the things you can't get anywhere else.

And those pieces are a reflection of everything I've learned along the way.

This is my evolution as a maker.

And I'm not finished yet.

There are still so many things I want to learn, create, experiment with and try.

Some pieces just have *the colors.*

And this set? **Oh, it has the colors.** 🍂❤️💛

The warm golden yellow. The rich red. The little pops of coral. Put them together with all those tiny beads and you get a combination that feels like autumn without being tied to any particular season.

This is one of those pieces that has always been a personal favorite of mine. I absolutely love the way these colors work together, and I think the detail in the beadwork makes this set something really special.

The bracelet and earrings are handmade, one of a kind, and ready to find their new home.

Although I'll admit... letting go of a set in colors this gorgeous might be a little difficult. 😉
